This directory is a partial listing of people who post using the tag.  At last count there were more than 2000 active participants using this hashtag on Twitter, so this directory reflects only a small portion of those, specifically writers who self-select and submit bios for inclusion.

I started this directory out of frustration.  I wanted an easy way to find out more about my writing colleagues–and an easy way to buy their books.  So along with the directory, I’ve added links to The Amwriters Store (for books available on Amazon) and also to other sources including independent bookstores, ebook download sites, and author websites.

This website is growing slowly but steadily.  Every time I post a new bio, I get another one or two for the stack.  I’m guessing we’ll hit a bit of a plateau when we get to 200 entries (about 10% of the posting population) but, if not, I may need to get help adding entries at that point.  Until then, I’ll just keep plugging along and we’ll see what happens!

In this directory you’ll find lots of good energy for everyone.  Both published and unpublished authors are welcome, traditional or indie publishing, fiction or nonfiction–we’re here for each other as writers.  The community is more important than anything else here.

If you regularly post using the #amwriting hashtag and would like to be included:, please send me an email (johanna@johannaharness.com) with a short bio and a picture plus links to where others can read your work (books, blogs, flash fiction, newspapers, etc).  Please don’t forget to tell me your twitter name! I don’t always recognize author names without their twitter equivalent. Keep your descriptions appropriate for a general audience.

If you have Amazon links, I’ll add links to The Amwriters Store as long as Amazon doesn’t have the seller marked as excluded.  If you do give me a link for Amazon, tell me your preferred category/genre (I can add it if it’s not there already).

(Please note: At the moment, I am about two weeks behind in adding bios.  I plan a few marathon catch-up days, but wouldn’t be surprised if this waiting time grows a bit before it shrinks.  I do acknowledge receipt of bios within a day or so after receiving.  If you do not get this acknowledgment, it’s likely I did not receive your bio.  Since this probably means a problem w/ email, it’s a good idea to send me an @johannaharness tweet so we can compare notes.)

Do know that I reserve the right to omit authors or material for any reason, including personal offense. I’m not easily offended, but the website is, at least to some degree, a reflection of me. If I say keep it tasteful, then keep it tasteful. Okay? Okay.
